The Brief

Bud & Bloom are an UK online only plant shop that celebrates parents of all plants big and small. With more young people choosing to garden, the demand for beautiful plants from sustainable sources is growing. The client wanted a bright, bold visual identity that would stand out from the competitors.

The Idea

The target audience is younger plant lovers, so I chose an illustrative route to create a brand with personality and character. The use of gouache-style plant pattern adds a distinct and memorable touch. It can be adapted and applied across various brand elements, from the packaging, to website, to marketing materials. The sans-serif logo is bold and timeless, it can be used effectively on a variety of content too. For the typography, I added a serif font to add contrast & elegance.

Celebrate individualism

I wanted to keep the theme of individualism running through the product photography too. Using vibrant colours and moody lighting creates a more editorial, memorable look. To encourage customers to support an independent business over competitors I integrated playful copywriting across the different activations creates a sense of familiarity and brand loyalty.
